Mitchells & Butlers
Mitchells and Butlers who run the largest managed house estate in the UK continue to use the Kegmiser at their outlets for regular line checks and accurate stock management. Since they split from the brewing part of the business some years ago they have had a requirement to be able to measure the contents of kegs with a mixture of dispense head types. Most of the outlets have now converted to the Kegmiser Mark 3 which gives local management the capability to accurately measure the contents of kegs fitted with Grundy, Sankey, Alumasc or UEC dispense heads.
Kegmiser MK3
The procedures used for the accurate measurement of keg contents using the Kegmiser Mark 3 has made it more user friendly and robust than the previous model which could all too easily be flooded with beer unless great care was taken in its use. The result is that this product is now used extensively by stock auditors and cellar services personnel to take keg measurements for quick accurate stocktaking and ullage control. For example, Innserve, who supply, install and maintain drinks dispense systems in 98,000 outlets across the UK, have over 250 Kegmiser Mark 3’s in regular service with their field service personnel who use the Kegmiser for accurate ullage measurement.
Online Kegmiser
The On-Line Kegmiser, or OLK as it is known, is still the preferred choice for a number of multiple site operators including Gala Bingo, Youngs of London and Mecca Bingo. When new outlets are added to their estates by acquisition or new –build then an OLK is installed to give them an easy and quick method of checking keg contents. The On-Line Kegmiser permits the measurements to be taken without the need to uncouple the dispense head of each keg in the cellar.
Military Messes
A significant and growing number of military messes are now getting the benefit of using Kegmisers and Minimisers to measure the draft beer stocks at the end of shifts or at shift hand-overs. The Minimiser is an electronic weighing platform that gives a direct reading of keg contents on a large LED display, and is particularly cost effective where only a few 11 gallon kegs are on tap in the bar.
Accardis Systems
Accardis Systems who are based in Washington, USA continue to expand their customer base with On-Line Kegmisers. They even had a customer recently who set the record for the number of tapped-up kegs on a single site being measured by the Kegmiser at over 60. That’s a lot of kegs and dispense taps for bar staff to contend with !
